As a professional educator for 18 years, Bob Steffes has
taught at the high school, middle school, and university
levels. He has worked for 12 years as a Language Arts teacher,
three years as an assistant principal, and is currently the
principal at Lewis and Clark School in Jefferson City,
Missouri.
Bob holds a doctoral degree in educational administration,
and is an instructor for Central Methodist College and the
University of Missouri-Columbia. As an instructor, he has
taught courses in secondary education, history and philosophy
of education, and middle level curriculum and psychology. He
has completed research on interdisciplinary teaming and
inclusion, and has worked in special education and middle
level education.
As a nationally known speaker, Bob has conducted workshops
in the areas of school climate, staff development, curriculum,
educational leadership, students with special needs, and
middle school programs. He has presented at the National
Teachers of Social Studies Conference, Association for
Supervision and Curriculum Development Conference, the
Institute for Inclusive Education, the National Association of
Secondary School Principals Conference, the Council for
Exceptional Children Conference, and the National Middle
School Association Conference.
Bob's personal experiences as a teacher and administrator
combined with his educational background serve as a bridge
