As a nationally known speaker, Bill Rogge has conducted
workshops and in-service training throughout the United
States. He has taught mathematics for 30 years at the junior
and senior high school levels. Bill has also taught numerous
college mathematics courses, including the secondary
mathematics course for prospective student teachers at
Nebraska Wesleyan University.
Bill is an active member of the National Council of
Teachers of Mathematics (NCTM) and has presented at numerous
national and regional NCTM conferences as well as more than a
dozen state mathematics conferences. He regularly reviews
prospective articles and books for The Mathematics
Teacher, and for twenty years has published a regular
column entitled Rogge's Ruminations for the Nebraska
Association of Mathematics Teacher newsletter. Bill was the
recipient of the 2001 Don Miller Mathematics Award from the
Nebraska Association of Teachers of Mathematics.
Bill's love for mathematics also manifests itself in his 21
years as Northeast High School's Math Club sponsor. Not only
do his students continually place high in varied mathematics
competitions throughout the state and region, but many go on
to pursue careers involving mathematics. He recently formed
and coached Nebraska's first American Regions Mathematical
League team.
With more than 22 years of emphasis in problem solving,
Bill's informal, humorous delivery is interspersed with
stories to illustrate specific points. His presentations are
always guided by the question, "If I were in the audience,
what would I expect to learn and
use from the workshop?" In this
workshop, expect a wealth of practical ready-to-use
information and an atmosphere of stimulation and
fun!
