Hope Martin is a dynamic mathematics teacher, with over 30
years of experience in the elementary and middle school
classroom. She is currently writing, teaching, and
facilitating workshops across the country.
Hope was the Illinois state recipient of the Presidential
Award for Excellence in Mathematics Teaching two consecutive
years and a finalist for the Golden Apple Award in both 1989
and 1990. She has presented at numerous state and national
mathematics conferences, speaking on topics that advocate an
active, interdisciplinary approach to education.
Hope has authored thirteen books including 730
Warm-Ups, What Year am I: A Warm-Up a Day, Multiple
Intelligences in the Mathematics Classroom, Integrating
Mathematics Across the Curriculum, and the Math in the
Real World Series. Her ideas have been published in
various National Council of Teachers of Mathematics'
publications, including Dealing with Data and Chance
and the Arithmetic Teacher. She is
currently revising and updating books
of warm-ups and mulitple intelligences in the
mathematics classroom. Hope's books are now available for schools and
teachers.
Hope's workshops are easy-going and informative. All of the
activities she uses have been tested in her own classroom so
she knows how effective they are with young adults. She
