Carol McGehe is a teacher's teacher with 24 years of
classroom experience. Carol was designated Master Teacher by
the State of Illinois in 1984 and received the 1991
Presidential Award for Excellence in the Teaching of

Council of Teachers of Mathematics regional and national
conferences as well as numerous state conferences.
Carol orchestrated the publishing of a 245 page mathematics
textbook, Pioneer
Math authored by a class of at-risk 7th grade
students. The book, written by kids for kids, is now
used in classrooms across the United States, Canada, Great
Britain, and Bermuda. She is one of those rare teachers who
