Mary K.(Kay) Boltie is a veteran teacher, math department
head, and experienced workshop presenter. Her varied
background includes degrees in math, literature, and music
with additional training in gifted studies, learning
disabilities instruction, hands-on math, and cooperative
learning in the math classroom.
Kay has made many presentations on various mathematical
topics for parents, as well as teachers and student teachers.
She consults with districts on curriculum and staff
development.
Kay has always taken the teaching profession very
seriously, recognizing the profound impact teachers have on

range of students. In March 1997, Kay had her review of a
computer math game published in Teaching Children
Mathematics. She is the past president of the Northern
Illinois Area Teachers of Mathematics and serves on the board
of the Illinois Council of Teachers of Mathematics as K-6
Director and Membership Chair.
