With
more than 30 years of classroom experience in elementary,
middle, high and college, Mary Altieri brings and
understanding of the real world of the classroom to her
presentations.
Mary
won the Presidential Award for Excellence in Mathematics
Teaching in 1993. She is known nationally as a speaker and
workshop presenter for NCTM. She is active with her state and
regional math associations as well, serving as conference
coordinator and program chairperson for several
meetings.
Mary
has worked in the past for publishers of elementary textbooks
successfully getting some of her time-tested ideas into the
hands of students and teachers all over the country. She is
also currently writing for another major publisher to continue
in this effort.
Mary’s
workshops are interesting, fun and activity-packed. Teachers
never leave without something practical to use in their
classrooms on the day, along with the necessary management
tips to keep classrooms under control! While her recollections
of classroom anecdotes pepper her easygoing delivery, it does
not go unnoticed that each story has a message. Mary has used
her years in the classroom to good advantage. She regularly
took the golden opportunity to learn from her
students.
